From contaminated stream to a single, stable solid.
The Thermobind process runs continuously through the skid: bind PFAS in solution, flocculate with thermal activation, filter out the dense floc. Walk through each stage, what goes in, what happens, and what comes out.
PFAS-laden stream enters the skid
Concentrated reject from RO, ion exchange, or Foam Frac (FF), or landfill leachate or industrial wash water, is metered into the skid's continuous-flow loop. The system handles aqueous streams across a wide range of PFAS species.
Thermobind polymer binds PFAS at ambient temperature
Our thermo-responsive polymer dissolves in solution and binds PFAS chains directly in contaminated waste streams. No heat is required for capture, the bound polymer–PFAS complex stays in solution, ready for the next step.
Thermal activation flocculates the bound complex
Warming the stream above the polymer's LCST (40°C) triggers a reversible phase transition. The bound PFAS is concentrated into dense flocs that can be easily captured through filtration.
Simple filtration captures the flocs
Standard filtration separates the dense floc from the now-treated water. Treated water is sampled and returned to the site loop; the floc is dewatered into a compact, transportable cake.
Compact storage: greater than 98% waste volume reduction
What started as drums of liquid concentrate becomes a single sealed container of bound solid, ready for compliant onward disposal. Less truck-miles, less storage, less risk.
Audit trail and traceability
Every pass is logged: inputs, mass, temperature curves, polymer lot, and output volume. Operators get a compliance-grade record for every drum that leaves the site.
Bring the skid to the waste, or build it into your site.
